Sources and Research Basis
The publication Serbia β A Hijacked and Captured State is an independent analysis of Serbia's political and institutional system and its impact on freedom of political choice and voting rights. It draws on the author's decades of firsthand experience in politics and elections, personal knowledge of many of the events described, including those in which he directly participated, and his understanding of how government institutions and other institutions in Serbian society operate.
The publication draws on publicly available documents from Serbian and international institutions, official data, reports by organizations monitoring elections, the rule of law, and human rights, and original investigative journalism. In most cases, Serbian and international media reports were used to independently verify information the author had already obtained through other means, including dates, public statements, the sequence of events, and local circumstances.
The author's analysis brings together documented facts, firsthand experience, and findings from publicly available sources. The selection of examples, their interpretation, and the conclusions presented in this publication are the author's alone. They do not represent the views of, or imply endorsement by, any of the institutions, organizations, or news outlets listed below.
